John Barry article in Variety

A pal of ours brought this to our attention. Jon Burlingame of Variety, an expert on movie and television music, has done an article about longtime 007 composer John Barry. The composer turns 75 on Nov. 3.

Barry hasn’t done a Bond score in 21 years (The Living Daylights) and hasn’t done a movie score since 2001. Still, Barry is still active. And, as European 007 fans enjoy the latest 007 film (and we Yanks still wait), it’s still worth remembering the impact Barry has had on Bond.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. episode guide’s hiatus from the Internet was brief. After getting booted off AOL (which shut down its Web-hosting operation), the U.N.C.L.E. site is being hosted by none other than Her Majesty’s Secret Servant. There’s a couple of glitches here and there but the main thing is the site is back.

UPDATE: Robert Vaughn, who played Napoleon Solo on The Man From U.N.C.L.E., has come out with an autobiography. He appeared in an interview on Bloomberg Television, discussing U.N.C.L.E. and many other topics. The interview is up on YouTube. The image you see embedded below is William F.
