Fan sites post videos about Laz at the Spy Museum

On Oct. 5, Global James Bond Day, there was a James Bond-related event at the International Spy Museum in Washington. The headliner was George Lazenby, 79, who played 007 in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Proprietors of James Bond fan sites have now posted videos about the event.

Here’s the video posted by the James Bond Experience. There’s a short introduction followed by Lazenby talking to the audience.

Also posting a video was Being James Bond’s Joseph Darlington. It’s a summary of the event and a an exhibit about Bond villains that will close at the end of the year.

One of the more elaborate ways to ring in the new year is the JAMES BOND GALA IN WASHINGTON, D.C. at the Washington Plaza Hotel.

Listen to the SpyCast!

Some time ago, HMSS ran a story about Washington, DC’s International Spy Museum. We’re pleased to report that the museum is also, for your listening pleasure, putting out a pretty terrific podcast on a monthly basis. Called, naturally enough, SpyCast, its topics run the gamut from the history of America’s intelligence services to the hardware of spycraft; there are interviews with everyone from former MI5 chief Stella Remington to actor/spy buff Robert DeNiro. Fascinating stuff, all of it.

SpyCast is hosted by Peter Earnest, executive director of the museum. He was previously, and for many years, a CIA case officer (that means real spy), so he knows, presumably, whereof he speaks.
