Naomie Harris says Skyfall isn’t `that big on locations’

Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe were quizzed by reporters on Feb. 12 at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards about Skyfall. The questions were pretty routine. But Harris may have confirmed, unintentionally, that Skyfall won’t be filming at as many locations as some earlier 007 films.

When the subject of locations came up, Harris said, “We’re not that many…We’re really not that big on locations this year.” It comes up at the 1:42 mark of this video on YouTube that was uploaded by Absolute Radio:

This isn’t exactly startling. Skyfall’s first unit, after three months of a six-month shoot, hasn’t left the U.K. while a second unit has filmed scenes in China. However, given news reports such as THIS ONE saying Skyfall’s budget was cut compared with Quantum of Solace (something Eon Productions co bosses Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson denied at a Nov. 3 news conference) Harris’s comment was interesting. Not very detailed, but interesting.

UPDATE (Feb. 14): According to this THIS U.K. STORY the first unit of Skyfall has finally departed the U.K. to do location filming in Turkey.
