Author Mark Edlitz, who has written books about the 007 film series, is coming out with an examination of James Bond continuation novels, according to the MI6-HQ website.

The book is titled James Beyond: Beyond Fleming. Ian Fleming’s final Bond novel was The Man With the Golden Gun published in 1965, a year after the author died.

The Fleming estate commissioned Kingsley Amis (whose Colonel Sun continuation novel had bits included in 2015’s SPECTRE). Other 007 continuation authors included John Gardner, Raymond Benson, and others.

Aside from the bits from Colonel Sun, Eon Productions (which produces the Bond films) has avoided the continuation novels. Even then, Eon provided “the estate of Kingsley Amis” a credit deep in the end titles of SPECTRE.

MI6-HQ said Edlitz’s book will be published later in December.
